Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) is better known under her stage moniker Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. Her debut EP Pho, released was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released through Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to post her songs online, including her independent single Bound. The 21st day of July, 2015. Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes song"Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. Then, later in the year, her music was circulating throughout Dreamville. On the 8th of December, it was announced that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. She was featured on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed in The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening performance. In 2018, she went on to guest feature on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video was also released on September 5th. The 9th of November saw her release two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, on November 13 the singer released two new singles titled One and Pdigree. One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019 for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured along with Cole in The Creed II sound track on November 16. In February of 2019 the music video for this track was launched. The song has received over 3 million YouTube views in just one week. In December 2018, she was part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
